
William Jessup competed in its first match of the 2012 calendar year both Monday and Tuesday at the 13th Annual Cougar Invitational at Shadowridge Country Club in San Marcos.
In the first and second rounds that were played on Monday, Tony Bolander led the Warrior effort with a 154 (+10). Jessee Gardner and Matthew Robinson tied with a 158 (+14). Hayden Emerson shot a 166 (+22). Andy Crooz rounded out the Warriors' contingent with a 176 (+32).
In the third and final round, Robinson shot an 80 (+8) to finish him in a tie for 34th place along with Mike Conely and Julio Cotto of Holy Names, Justin Choi of CSU Dominguez Hills and Skyler Mednick of UC San Diego. Gardner shot an 83 (+11) and Bolander shot an 87 (+15) to tie each other in 42nd place along with Ross Mathews of Arizona Christian University. Emerson shot a final round 81 (+9) to finish him in a tie for 53rd place along with Joshua Kuhn of Arizona Christian University, Nolan Sand of The Master's College and Pedro Oviedo of Holy Names University. Andy Crooz finished in 66th place with a final round 87 (+15)
In the individual competition, Ryan Ellerbrock of Point Loma Nazarene University won the event with a -2 (214). Point Loma Nazarene University won the team competition by fourteen strokes over Victoria University of British Columbia. William Jessup finished tenth in the team competition.
The next tournament for the Warriors will be the Smee Builders Invitational in San Diego. The event will be held on March 5th.
