Rocklin, Calif. - In a vote of California Pacific Conference men's soccer coaches, the William Jessup University men's soccer team was selected to finish third in conference.
The five-time defending California Pacific Conference champion Holy Names University captured five out ofsix first place votes as the men's soccer coaches picked the Hawks to win the conference championship again in 2011.
Last year, the Hawks were the California Pacific Conference representative in the NAIA Men's Soccer National Tournament and defeated California Baptist University in Riverside in the opening round and Southern Polytechnic State University in Decatur, Alabama before falling to Hastings College in Decatur.
The other first place vote went to the Menlo College Oaks, who finished second.
The Warriors are led by sophomore Uriel Moreno and junior Mitch Chilcott, who have each scored a goal this season. Junior goalkeeper Tim Rusher leads the conference with 44 saves on the season.
The Warriors (2-4, 0-1) will travel to Oakland to take on Holy Names University on Saturday. Game time is set for 1:00 at Merritt College.
