Rocklin, Calif. - The William Jessup University women's basketball team was looking for some home cooking as they hosted Oregon Tech in the Bill Holtz Warrior Classic. The Lady Warriors struggled to find a bucket as Oregon Tech cruised to an 82-52 victory.

Both teams struggled early on to score. The game was tied at 7-7 with 11:41 left in the first half. From there it was all Oregon Tech. The Warriors could not hit a shot as they shot only 19% from the floor in the first half. The Lady Owls built a 39-16 halftime lead.

The Lady Owls would stretch the lead to 32 in the second half. The closest the Lady Warriors would get is 56-34 on a free throw by Jode Johnson. The Lady Owls would build the lead back up as the cruised to the victory.

The Lady Warriors shot 29% from the field for the game, including 16% from beyond the arc. Sophomore Nicole Aboumrad and freshman Joe Johnson lead the team with 14 points apiece.

"We need to come out ready to play and execute early," stated Head Coach Guin Boggs. "We struggled to hit shots early and in snowballed from there. We need to bounce back and be ready to go on Saturday."
